A Guide to Surviving SXSW

Check out this piece posted by the IPA and penned by our Director of Innovation,
Dan Machen – it’s the essential guide on how to survive the great American technology show, South By Southwest, which for 2016 took place 11-20 March. Because as a regular attendee of the event – not to mention a speaker last year – our Dan should know.

Held annually in Austin, Texas, the show this year featured as keynote speakers none other than Michelle and Barack Obama. But, as Dan explains, the key thing for attendees of SXSW is not FOMO but rather embracing JOMO – the joy of missing out. Because there’s just so much going on, you need to accept you’re going to have a truly amazing experience – made all the better by focusing on
a specific thread… not trying to do everything. Less is more.
